Given the task of furnishing a house for a growing family, using a combination of new and recycled furniture, we designed the dining suite to take the family comfortably with the room for expansion when family gather.
Using 5 antique, hand carved dining chairs as our base we reglued, refinished and reupholstered them in leather, made a dining table to match out of solid Blackwood and sourced a 3.3m long, silver ash church pew to complete the setting. From there we designed and commissioned the side board allowing the kitchen to flow to new areas and allowing free passage throughout the house.
In the main bed room we continued the theme of solid Blackwood and made a king size bed and matching, oversize side tables. The bed head is sectional and is a semi-aniline leather. The office was fitted out with a custom made desk for 2 with a combination of solid and timber veneer, Blackwood again and 2 hand carved, claw and foot desk chairs.
For the children’s bed rooms we used a combination of new, king single beds, existing single beds and manufactured 2 new leather desks whilst reworking the existing desk chairs.
